TAA Group is building a real-life sized Blue Whale for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21)
10/2015
The environmental and biodiversity protection association “Un cadeau pour la Terre“ (“A gift to the Earth”) has recently assigned TAA Group with the construction of a real-life sized giant Blue Whale. The impressive 33,6m long creature will be assembled in Paris, France, for the 21st conference of the United Nations on Climate Change. The event will take place on 7th & 8th of December 2015. The whale will be deployed from 28th November to 11th December at the Grand Palais as well as the Gros Caillou dock.
It will be a replica of the largest whale ever observed by man – a Blue Whale discovered in the South Atlantic in 1912. Up to 50 people will be able to visit its interior at once. The inside exhibition will provide an unforgettable experience of biodiversity, beauty, dangers and the urgency of environmental protection.
At the end of December the Blue Whale will go back to its home base in Aquitaine in the Biome area, Centre of Preservation of Species in Danger of Extinction, established in Pouydesseaux, France, where people will still be able to visit it.
The project has many internationally recognised partners including amongst others the French Minister of Environment, the European Parliament and National Geographic.
